Microdynamics Group is a privately held, Chicago-based national provider of personalized transactional printing, inserting, and mailing services. Our clients include a wide variety of financial institutions, credit unions, commercial and industrial enterprises, health care, and utility companies. Microdynamics is listed as one of Crain's "Fast Fifty," a list of the fastest growing businesses in the Chicago area, as well as in the Inc. "Top 5000" list of fastest growing companies nationwide.

Microdynamics was founded in 1974 by Thomas F. Harter, Sr. as a provider of computerized microfiche processing services. In January 2008, Microdynamics Group acquired the transactional mail portion of MetroGroup Corporation. In April, 2008, Microdynamics acquired additional assets and transactional business from LaserTech of Madison, WI. We currently produce over 400 million pieces of mail annually, for a base of about 200 clients.

Invoice and statement processing services include printing, inserting, sorting, mailing, data processing, software development, electronic invoice and statement processing, electronic presentment and payment, and archival solutions. Assistance is also available for design, layout, and mail configuration.

Microdynamics’ facilities are interconnected to operate as one cohesive unit. This provides the ability to handle large volumes of high-quality documents and the redundant capacity to minimize the effects of disruptions due to weather or other disasters. Thomas Harter, Sr., Chairman, President and CEO

Thomas Harter, Sr. began his career with International Harvester, where he served as the director of marketing/outside services. In 1974, after 11 years with International Harvester, Mr. Harter founded Microdynamics as a provider of microfiche archival services. Over time Mr. Harter has expanded the company's services and made the company into a leading provider of transactional printing and mailing services. Mr. Harter serves on the board of directors at Microdynamics Group.

Thomas Harter, Jr., Senior Vice President, Sales

Thomas Harter, Jr. joined Microdynamics in 1990. Mr. Harter is responsible for new business development, sales and marketing. Mr. Harter also assists in acquisition due diligence and strategic planning. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa. Mr. Harter serves on the board of directors at Microdynamics Group.

Dave Baker, Chief Financial Officer

Dave Baker joined Microdynamics in November 2007 after working at Tatum LLC, a national executive services and business consulting firm. He is responsible for financial reporting and guidance for the investment team. Mr. Baker has over 25 years of financial management experience. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame, an M.B.A. from DePaul University and is a certified public accountant.

Rick Schaltegger, Vice President, Administration and General Counsel

Rick Schaltegger joined Microdynamics in 2005 after working for State Farm Insurance Company in the corporate law department. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa and a J.D. from the John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
